I'm downloading Witcher 3 right now. It's a big download, and I think I'd do well to archive a backup of the vanilla game. Unfortunately, where it's been easy to Google such a query in regards to TES, I haven't had as much success with Witcher 3.

In TES you're basically backing up three folders:

steam\steamapp\common\GAME
documents\mygames\GAME
appdata\local\GAME

What are the folders I'll need to backup in Witcher 3 (GOG)? Thanks.

The wise choice is to back up your installation files, not the installed game. That being said, if you wish to, the game is installed to <wherever you point it>/The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt/ .

You will also need to back up the config / saves folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\The Witcher 3\
Thanks again, Hickory!
Have fun. :)

...I'd already hit "install" in Galaxy hours before, so I suspect the only installation files on my PC will be temp files, and they'll be gone once the installation is complete.

You can download the classic installers if you wish, via your browser.

I thought about it, but, since the download took over 26 hours here on Buffering Blvs....
