My mama taught me to never install a game I might ever mod in Program Files or Program Files(x86).

The first time I ran Galaxy it defaulted to a folder within Program Files(x86) so I created a folder called GOG on my (c) drive and am installing the game there. Was that a correct move?

Not totally unrelated question: Skyrim has the STEP Wiki. Is there a similar resource for Witcher 3?

Thanks.

Yes. Anything within 'Program Files' or 'Program Files (x86)' is write-protected by Windows. Games that wish to write to their installation folder are forbidden and Windows ghosts whatever is written to another 'virtual' folder where the game cannot find it.

Skyrim STEP in an enhancement project wiki. There is no need for a Witcher enhancement project, at least not yet. There are several normal wikis -- just search Google.
Thanks very much!

BTW, I didn't realize my post had been posted. I hit "post" and Galaxy went "processing" and it still appears to beprocessing, in another window.

You're welcome.

The GOG forum has been playing up for quite a while. Best not to use Galaxy for forum business.
