Hello,

I have a trouble with overheating my system, when playing the witcher 3.
I have Dell Inspirion 7577.

CPU: corei7-7700HQ (2,80GHz), RAM: 16 GB, Graphics: GTX 1050 Ti (4GB).

I switched the 3D settings to run the game with the GPU (NVIDIA), and the load when playing is 100% and temeperature around 70°C which is ok.

But! the intel graphics (load 1%) temperature goes every time above the 80°C, sometimes over 90°C and the game starts lagging sometimes (independent on graphic settings and it starts to overheat immediatelly after the game begins). I don’t get it. The CPU temperature goes high too (above 80°C).

Does anyone know, how to fix this? Bcs I am a bit desperate, the notebook should run the game fine.

Thanks a lot
fan openings may not be blocked. Place the laptop on a hard surface.
If you're already doing that, you should check if the heatsinks are not blocked by dust. The laptop covers may have to be removed to reach and blow away the dust (if it's still in warranty, don't do that yourself!)

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
Dust were removed a week ago, so it is not the dust

You need undervolting.

Can you explain it please? It’s in Russian and the translator is not precise, thank you a lot :)
1. Read the instructions for the Intel (R) Extreme Tuning Utility, as well as the articles about the undervolting.
2. Install Intel (R) Extreme Tuning Utility
3. Change the Core Voltage Offset value, for example -100 mV.
Everything should work out. I reduced to -150 mV, the temperature of the CPU above 83 does not rise.

Thank you a lot :) -110mV worked for me well, temeprature does not rise above 80
