Hi there !

I personnally like to buy boxed copies of some specific games, and the Witcher series is one I enjoy having on my shelf.
I have boxed versions of the platinum/enhanced editions for both games, but I have a few questions regarding The Witcher 3, and either I suck badly at googling or no answers have been provided :-)

1) My understanding from the FAQ on these forums is that ANY boxed version can be redeemed on GOG.com regardless of the store it was bought in (excluding 2nd hand copies of course). Is that correct?

2) Are there any plans announced to release a boxed version of the full game once all DLCs and expansions will be out?

3) If the answer to 2 is no, are there any known plans to release a boxed version similar to the Enhanced edition which would contain the latest patch and the free DLC?

I'm currently making every effort to delay the day when I start playing this game as I tend to prefer playing the full thing rather than finish the game then restart months later when the DLC/expansions are out so no rush :-)

Thanks in advance!

1) Yes.
2) Unknown at this stage, but I'll bet they do.
3) I reckon that's on the cards as well.
Good thinking on game start as I'm still playing 1.02 version and no DLC's as yet.

1) Yes! If you bought the game from an authorized retail seller you got a key and you can redeem the game on GOG.

2) + 3) I don`t know but I think that there will be an Enhanced Edition (like they did with Witcher 1 and 2). But not in the near future.

It is the same for me. I don`t like to play the game now. I just wait for an complete edition (some kind of Enhanced Edition) and play the game with all DLCs and expansions and hopefully bug free.

Edit: Link to Witcher 3 website (You can look for authorized retail sellers there.)

The Witcher 3 : The Wild Hunt is complete, The DLC is optional & the expansions will be two new adventures separate from the Wild Hunt story.
It wouldn't be a surprise if at some point in the future a GOTY/Enhanced version of the Witcher 3 was announced but since the last expansion is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2016 it will be a long wait until it's released.

The two expansion are going to have 10hours & 20 hours of gameplay & CDPR have already mentioned that as they work on them the amount of content they have gets bigger & bigger. As the expansions are two new stories & have a lot of content you could easily treat them as separate Witcher games.

It's also worth mentioning that the Enhanced Editions of Witcher 1 & Witcher 2 were free updates, imo there is no reason not to buy the boxed version currently on sale & start playing immediately :)

Well, yeah, I know the expansions are meant to be somewhat separate from the main storyline etc. but my OCD is giving me a hard time on this one.

In an ideal world I would buy the regular boxed copy now, play it with the DLCs and when a boxed GOTY/Enhanced/Platinum/UltimateBitchingWitching edition comes out in 2016 I would buy it and give my regular boxed copy to a friend.

So much temptation...

But again 2015 is the year of the RPG for me so I after completing Wasteland 2 I still have Dinivity Original Sin, Dragon Age Inquisition and Pillars of Eternity ready to play. Until Torment comes out of course.

So I could wait. But do I WANT to wait? Aaaaargh!

deciding if you should play a game or not doesn't mean you have OCD.

Just to be clear I don't have an actual, diagnosed OCD :-)

That being said I tend to be unable to leave a game alone until I have finished all the crappy little things they put in nowadays (think the riddles in Batman Arkham Asylum etc.) and I have a hard time getting into a game if I know there will be any kind of additional content that is not purely cosmetic.

I mean I can force myself out of this behavior, but it feels weird :-)
