I bought Witcher 3 on retail when it was released but it was buggy and there was no FoV setting. Rather than hold onto it until those things were fixed I sent it back for a refund. I was pretty annoyed at the time and getting a full refund made me feel better, what can I say?
Now those things have been fixed and there is now a proper FoV setting I'd really like to try again but it's pointless buying the game on retail now if I have to download most of it in patches. Also, the game is pretty large and my internet speed has taken a hit again (a regular occurrence these days).
What is the likelihood that a GOTY edition will be released on physical retail, with all the DLC and bug fixes? I'd buy that immediately if it were available now. Next year sometime perhaps? Do GOG plan on re-releasing at all?
