Edit: Arrgghh... well that was stupid of me. The power cord got bumped and I didn't realize I was running on the battery. As it got low, it apparently quietly slashed the graphics performance. Duh. So... never mind.

I've been playing The Witcher 3 for a couple weeks with all settings on Ultra and it's been running great for me. I have a GTX 1060 card that's been handling it very well. This morning it was fine too. Then I fired it up this evening and suddenly the performance is lousy. The GPU is pegged at 100% and the game is very laggy. I rebooted the computer. That didn't help. I regretably tried downgrading the graphics setting to high instead of ultra. That hasn't even been enough.

Anyone else have this problem? I didn't touch the game settings or anything else on this laptop between this morning and this evening.

You might want to check if it's power-related problem. Your graphics card may not be recieving enough power. I'd highly suggest you check your battary/power settings, make sure you're running on "ultra performance" mode. I'd also recommend that you play while plugged in to make sure that there's no power constrains on the GPU.

Good luck!
