I occasionally experience video stuttering and it's very annoying. I haven't pinned it down, but I can run the game on very high settings about about 99% of the time. The stuttering returned the other day and I'm wondering if there is a known cause/solution for this issue before I start trudging through google search results.

Are you running the Galaxy overlay? Turn it off. Any Steam components? Same.

I'll assume that you have made sure that you are running all of the latest game updates - Patch, DLC package and Expansions.
