When i try to make a strong attack it simply puts to sword away unless i am already in a combo (IE i have to start with a weak attack or else attempting a strong attack puts my sword away)

I have checked and the strong attack button is not shared with any other command

is this a known glitch
Strong attack only successfully goes off if you unbind the attack modifier (left shift) and bind a dedicated strong attack key. This is the only way i was able to get SA to work 100% of the time.
I noticed that too, damn this game is so buggy and lacks so much things :'(

Not really the question asked, but one thing I noticed with the shift modifier, is that the left mouse button needs to be tapped. I can't hold it for even a small amount of time (and I'm still taking a fraction of a second). It's really weird, but it needs to just be tapped and then immediately released. Not easy in combat mind, but I've found it's consistent.

No idea if that helps anyone at all though :o)
I afraid that does not help
I dont use the attack modifyer key

Indeed. It was more to do with what the others were saying, but yes, kinda off topic.

My experience with a dedicated Strong Attack button was very limited, as I found it glitchy. That was a while back, before the recent patch. so I didn't know if anything had changed. Adding in Starkrun's comments, it may well be that it's still glitchy. Have you experimented with the attack modifier, by disabling it? You could start a temporary new game, just to play around in?
