gunsynd: Buy at Gog as with the sales you'll do better than you would at Steam.
And it's DRM free at Gog,prices are better in the long run at Gog.
Witcher 3 is DRM free at Steam too. You only need Steam to downlad it(Steam is like the GOG Downloader or Galaxy in this example) and after that copy the game to a different place on your PC (or any other PC) and start it (without Steam).

There are more DRM free games on Steam too. See this link for a list:
http://steam.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/list_of_drmfree_games_on_steam/page1

For DRM free games Steam is like GOG Galaxy.

But if you want to support the devs better just buy it here.

CpT_x_Killsteal: Alright, you guys have convinced me, I'll go for GoG.

invenio: 3) If regional pricing pisses you off (as it does me), just log into GOG using a US ip address (or any other region for that matter) and buy the game at that regions price. Either way, more money will go to the developers by using GOG, and you will get a totally DRM free way to play the game.

CpT_x_Killsteal: How do you do this?

Edit: actually, it might only be worth it if I can get around the region pricing. There aren't really any other games I'd consider buying on GoG at the moment, sale or no sale.

Edit 2: Nevermind, Prince of Persia will do when it comes on sale again.
You can use a VPN to buy from any region.

Here is a list of all regional priced games with prices in each region:

I always recommend the GOG version than than the Steam equivalent for any game that's simultaneously available on both platforms. I'd rather own the DRM-free version than be at the mercy of digital distributors and GOG is consumer-friendly when it comes to those things.

Also, if you want the game but don't want to pay for it. I'll be happy to gift it to you if you can solve my little riddle.
Here's my thread with further info on it:

https://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/my_witcher_3_wild_hunt_review_plus_free_games

A few people have tried but no one has been able to solve it yet which is surprising since I thought it was fairly easy when I made it.
Good luck if you try it.

Why not buy a boxed copy? You can activate on GOG. I purchased one for the equivalent of $30 when I was in Warsaw. I don't know how it works in Australia but possibly you can find a cheaper version if you shop around. But I agree with others that I really dig the DRM free policies of CDPR; buying it off Steam almost feels insane.

The retailer is going to take 1/3rd of the selling price. Basically it comes down to how many middle men do you want to give your money to. Retailers, steam, etc... will all take a hefty cut of the selling price. If you buy on GOG, 100% goes to the developer's company.

Sure, but I also need to think about my own wallet ;)

Where are you finding it cheaper than GOG, especially if you can simply buy it from any region?

US price is $59.99 (you can get store credit in the more expensive regions). Lowest regional pricing is $23.79.
These are without any discounts.

It was 120 zl (=$30) in Saturn. Do you mean order online through a VPN or something?

Yeah, ordering via vpn using a specific region's ip address.
