I had purchased TW3 and the expansion pass. Now I see there is a GOTY. If I read it correctly, a blue post stated that there is no difference in material between the two. Someone mentioned that the installers are different. Is there a difference? Should I download the GOTY version, or just use what I have? Just wondering what is easier. Thanks all!

Use the Galaxy client to install 1.30 from scratch, you'll never have to touch it again after that.
Goty installers is only for owners who bought the game in the same form. Those who have a basic game + season pass must wait for a separate installers. Hardly a fair especially that such a person as I paid for the whole much more ...
As the others said before: You can only download the GOTY version of the game if you bought the GOTY version of the game.
Otherwise you have to download the installers and patches and DLCs with your browser, the GOG downloader or GOG Galaxy.
In the end you have the same game with the same content.
Thanks for all the replies. I had purchased the expansion pack a long time ago, but never downloaded it, as I did not have time. I looked and saw I have lots of files to download now, as there are some updates to TW3 as well. It would have been nice for a neater package and installers, but, not much I can do there. I will let them all download tonight. Just hope I do not go over my data cap.
They did that with Van Helsing. Why can't they do it for Witcher 3? For all of us that got all the expansions GOG could automatically update us to the GOTY version.
