I own the game from pre-ordering, and I'm planing on buying a new PC soon. If I get a code from Nvidia, what will happen if I try to redeem it?

Never done that myself, but GOG has a gift option for games. When you get it - try it...

Don't redeem it yourself, just give the Nvidia vouchter to your friend, we will have to login with his GOG account at the Nvidia website after inputting his code.
Was in the same position as you :)
