I remember a while back there was some things about save file compatibility between the original Witcher3 and the Game of the Year edition.

Digging around it seems like it's only console related? There are no issues with PC I assume? Anyone know? Just wondering if I should get the DLC or the GotY.

I never got around to finishing and it's been a while... maybe I should just restart a new game anyway... -_- I'd also be able to fix that one shrine I couldn't turn grey on the first map (?bug?). I'd still like to know about the save game stuff though. :)

The Game of the Year edition has the complete story. Makes sense to get that.

As for starting from the beginning, not sure why you wouldn't.

It's a game. You play as many times as you like. Each time, doing things a bit differently.
