Hey everyone! So I'm a new fan to the series and have a question I'm hoping some of you could answer. There was some pretty decent build up to the Big Four possibly defending the city from Emhyr and/or Radovid throughout the game, but when you return to Novigrad in Act III, Radovid is suddenly in the city with his banners flying on the walls. Am I the only one who finds it strange that this isn't explained or acknowledged? Did he take the city? Is he allowed to just visit since he's the king/ it's a free city/ it's in Redania/ etc.? Could someone help me out here on what happened or why CDPR, a company with such an amazing eye for detail, decided to ignore this crucial point in the story?

I believe it's down to cut content. There is apparently evidence (in game files) that there was supposed to be a battle in Novigrad, but it never made it to the finished game. It's a very similar situation to Nilfgaard unexpectedly invading Skellige with no in-game explanation -- that seems to be a case of getting the Nilfgaardians there for the final battle.

Thank you, and that's a shame. A battle for Novigrad would've been the perfect way to give the war storyline some more weight. Hopefully this battle finds its way back in the game with the Enhanced/GOTY Edition.
