1. The store page seemingly implies that the GotY edition exclusively features a "new user interface completely redesigned". Could we have some proper clarification on whether that is the case?

2. No mention on the store page as to whether our existing save game files will work with the GotY edition?

3. Is the GotY edition 100% compatible with all mods used with the existing base game plus expansion packs I/we currently use?

4. Will our existing base game plus expansion packs version of the game receive the same patches in future as the GotY version?

1. "new user interface completely redesigned" was introduced in one of the patches (1.21, if I'm correct). There is no GOTY-specific tweaks or enhancements.
2. On PC you can easily transfer save game files from non-GOTY to GOTY version. I did that and all works like a charm.
3. Nope, GOTY and non-GOTY, while the same content-wise, have a bit different source code structure, so mods designed for non-GOTY release would not work with GOTY version.
4. Both version won't receive new patches, but both contain the same tweaks and corrections. None of the versions is "worse" or "less loved" in any terms ;)

1. Thanks for making clear what the store page did not.
2. Great news. I'll look in to how to transfer my save game file over then if I download the GOTY version.
3. Oh dear, that's not good news at all. Hopefully the modding scene will take account of CDPR's meddling.
4. Well, "tweaks and corrections" are patches so I'm not sure what you're saying there. As long as both versions receive any future patches then all's good.
TW3 GOTY Edition just appeared in my GOG Galaxy Library and is available for me to "download and install" it. Well, I didn't buy it. I did wanted the Box version but it wasn't released here, for the PC. (Only for consoloes... grrrr)... Niways, is that right? Was I given the GOTY Edition? Like, for FREE? =) My PC saves will work right? I'm all emotional with the deference but in fact, I'm not getting additional 33 GB of software. My Boxed TW3 DVD's version with my Season Pass, few mods and all patches are working fine. Still, one manly tear slipped down my face! Thanks CDPR and GOG! =))
So basically is there any difference between the original version+all DLC and the GOTY ?
Actually, I´ve the same problem. I´ve no real clue of what´s better. If to buy the discounted GOTY version, or the expansions... I own the base game but this is pretty confusing.

I would love to think that buying all things separately will give you the super-installer in the end. But for what I´m reading, that´s not the case.

If someone has any idea what´s the best thing to do, thanks in advance.
Ok, guys. Please, excuse my ignorance.

I read the following post...

...and now, my doubts are flying away... :P

Buying expansions ASAP !!!

Thanks for your patience!

1. You welcome :)
3. I think that modders sooner or later will mainly stick to GOTY edition.
4. I meant that non-GOTY and GOTY include the same patches. I don't think it would be another update,
So the only 'advantage' to using the GOTY edition is that it can be installed with one click instead of three! Which of course is rendered moot when one already has the non-GOTY installed.

That's great news because it spares us from having to uninstall the non-GOTY version and its mods and then download the GOTY version and mods (and hoping the mods actually work properly).

In GOTY version main menu switches randomly between three themes (from basic game, HoS and BaW), in version 1.31 non-GOTY (with two add-ons installed) menu always uses theme from Blood and Wine. You can change it via mod so definitely you don't have to replace your non-GOTY with GOTY-version.
