For my next question.

I have read that if you patch the game as they are released your save games will not work on the newer patched version.

If this is true then I may wait until they finish patching the game before buying.

Where did you read that? I don't think that is at all true.

I can tell you that my save from the release version 1.01, worked fine after patching to 1.03.

Actually it's the other way, as in you won't be able to load new saves on older version, if you somehow managed to "downgrade" the game or reinstalled it without patching. Loading old saves on new after updating works fine.
