Hi,
need some hints....

When looking at "Extras", there are A LOT of files which could be downloaded. There's no problem to identify addons, goodies and such, however..what about the game itself.

I'm interested in the Offline-Version of the game only, so when looking into that section i wonder, whether i do need the Big-File pack only, or also all the other stuff (Laucher-Update...Red-mode-updates, pacth whatever..)

Would the "BIG-File" be enough ?

All hints welcome
Thanks

You only need the regular files showing up in the left column, under the phrase "Download offline backup game installers" (this could be hidden by default, if taht's the case, click on it to display it). If you have the complete edition, there are 22 files that are labelled "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition (Part xx of 22)". To install the complete, you need to download all files to the same folder and execute the first one.

You don't need to download the ones whose name begins with "Patch". Those are only useful if you have already installed a previous version of the game and want to update to a newer version.

If you prefer to install the "classic" version of he game before the next-gen update, you will find the files on the right column or "Extras", labelled as "Witcher 3 GOTY Classic PartX". There are 10 parts.

I am going through the process of downloading backups copies of all my GOG Games, including the original/classic Witcher 3. It seems the games files for original release are under the game extras section on the right, so what are all the files on the left, under the section called "DOWNLOAD OFFLINE BACKUP GAME INSTALLERS" with each line labelled: 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Part 1 of 16)' and so on. There are similar files for the DLCs also as well as what appear to be, game launchers.

That is the current version 4.04a

Isn't the current version the complete edition? Which is under a separate section.

If it is showing part1 of 16, it is version 4.04a, the current version of the base game. (attached pic base)
If you bought that ,and then both the paid DLC's which have separate offline installers, then you got the complete edition free, but it is just the same game with the DLC already added.

The complete edition shows as part 1 of 22 because the DLC's are included and are installed as one. It is the same version 4.04a (attached pic complete)

The Classic version on the right is still version 1.31 and has no DRM content that requires the "optional" Galaxy client.

Thanks for clarifying!

Also, whats this about DRM? CDPR and GoG were famous for their anti-DRM stance - has this changed?

Yes it has unfortunately.
They started by locking some content from Cyberpunk 2077 behind the "optional" galaxy client.
Then they did the same with the last Witcher 3 update.
Small things, but totally unnecessary.
I made a gwent mod for Witcher 3, some-one ask me to update it for the latest version, but it would have required me to install the Galaxy client to get the Roche card, so I never did.
You can simply add the Galaxy items to your inventory with console commands.
For the Roach gwent card the command should be: additem('gwint_card_roach')

Well damn! CDPR are dead then. Greed finally got them.
