Ich habe beide Versionen von The Witcher 3, aber in beiden Fällen wird mir nicht das neue Update installiert und somit spiele ich immer noch mit 1.32. Selbst in Galaxy wird mir das nicht angeboten.
The ray tracing is broken levels of demanding. Just ridiculous.

However everything else about the update I love. The new Ultra+ settings are great, the lighting changes at night are wonderful. the TAA is a lot better looking than whatever AA it used before and stuff like the mini-map fading out is great.

I'm sorry some have technical problems but hey, that's PC gaming. For me it runs great (without RT) and looks so much better.

Scythifuge: I have a 5900x CPU, a 6900XT GPU, 32GB of 3600Mhz RAM, and I am running the game on a fast SSD. Prior to this update, I played the game in 4k with everything cranked up all of the way and got a solid locked 60FPS. Now, with the "next-gen" update, the game runs like garbage. (...)

Mephrite: Similiar case here. I have 3700X + 3070. On DX12 in Novigrad it runs ~40 fps. On DX11 I have at least 70-80 fps. If you don't care about RT, just play it on DirectX 11.

Unfortunately, CDPR didn't optimized game for AMD Ryzen processors. Results on Intel equivalent runs about 30% smoother, than on AMD. From my perspective this is a huge downgrade in terms of fps and optimization. On above setting with RT (DX12) on, I have in Novigrad ~30 fps. The game is on SSD disc.

Great disappointing...
hate to bust you bubble but I have a i7 7700l intel and it crashes at the start menu with next gen update dx12 and 11. I have a rtx 3060 i7 7700k cpu, 16gb ram, win10.
Windows 7, Intel i5, 16GB RAM, RX580. Doesn't crash, at least at the start, but works like trash on the minimum settings. Is it a disaster of a release? Yes. Other games, many look better, run far smoother. I am not going to touch it any further even with a 10 foot pole nor think to launch on Windows 10, Ryzen 5, RX6900, 32GB RAM. I hope CD Projekt Red will not go total nuts and will at least preserve the previous version as is.

Yes, yes, I get it, this edition was made "with good intentions," but we know to what "good intentions" may lead to.

Scythifuge: Cyberpunk 2077 runs and looks better than this "update" does.
I never thought CD Projekt Red will manage to mess up even more than this past disaster. It makes me extremely skeptical on this company's future projects. If the "The Witcher 3"'s "update" is anything to come by, the future games might be even worse than Cyberpunk 2077 and (not unlikely) worse than what we currently have. Does it not understand it shatters the pieces of own past good reputation to nothingness with that carelessness?

How come? CD Project Red is supposed to be not a small company, it has a lot of people, it operates the 2nd (by size) store after Steam, and yet it cannot do as little as to test the game before release and squash critical performance issues. These are not hidden or hard to find bugs, no excuses.

There games have been broken buggy messes at launch since they started. Witcher 3 itslef was a total bug ridden mess at launch. Let's not even talk about Cyberpunk 2077.

I have read that this is a problem across the board for PC users. Two years of waiting after the CP2077 fiasco, and now this? This is why I am playing MS-DOS games on a real 486, these days. Modern "gaming" is absolutely screwed, unless you go with indy titles. I was hoping to play a NG+ game with this update, but I am getting save game compatibility/version errors when trying to find a save to import (and even if the performance issues are fixed, I don't see myself playing the game again just to play a NG+ game.)

I was hoping for something cool after getting ripped off and screwed over by Elex II, but like I said, modern "gaming: is trash, and companies can no longer release a solid title.
I'm experiencing major isues with the next-gen update, even with the Hotfix 2. I have always used the GOTY physical copy of the game, so it's the first time launching it through GOG Galaxy. Well, with GOG Galaxy 2.0 the game directly doesn't download, I get the E4 error whathever I do (tried all the recommendations, but to no avail). Finally, installed the 1.2.16.67 version of the launcher, and the game did download.

However, the game suddenly shutsdown during any loading screen (tried a new game, and also the expansions) and it always crashes back to desktop. I have tried launching the game with DX11 and it worked, but the FSR 2.1 is not available in this mode (DLSS seems to work), and the performance is quite bad. Also updated the AMD drivers but I'm still experiencing the same problem.

My PC is pretty old: W10, FX6200, RX470, 16 Gb and the game is running in a Samsung QVO 870 SSD. Either way I don't think it's a requeriments isue, since I'm able to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 at 1600x900, 30fps and mid/high settings with the FSR 2.1 in performance mod at 0.90 (no RT of course) without any trouble.

I believe it's some kind of compatibility isue with the REDengine 2 and DX12, since, as I said, Cyberpunk 2077 is working without any trouble..

Anyway, after some tests I have been able to run the game with DX11 at 1600x900, mid/high settings and 55-60fps using the Radeon Boost from the Radeon Adrenaline Software. Of course it's way worse than using FSR 2.1, but have not been able to find any other solution at this point.

So, does anyone know if it's possible to make FSR 2.1 work on DX11???

Thanks

fuytters: For me the game doesn't even start. I get the crash reporter, that's it. Previous version ran smoothly.

fronzelneekburm: Same here.
same here!!! Tried verifying, tried installed again, nothing!!! Tha game does not start at all, even at lowest settings!!!
Any fix????
Even with the new (very underwhelming, might I add) patch, I have hilariously low FPS along with the worst stuttering I've seen in my life, on a 3070 of all things. Guess I'm just going to roll back to the old DX11 version.

What exactly is the point of this next gen patch ? I don't care if its free. Either do something properly or not at all.
With the new 4.01 patch the game finally runs on DX12, but even with the lowest setings and the FSR at highest performarnce the game suffers an unplayable stuttering and FPS drops (and no RT of of course). I suposse it´s my hardwares fault now since, at least, the game runs.

Either way, also noticed that the subtitles don´t appear on screen, not the main conversations neiher the NPCs wordlwide cheetchats. Has anyone else experience this problem???

Guess I will have to keep playing the DX11 version, my PC doesn´t seem to support the DX12 upgrades.
From 4.00 I can't run game. I tried on GTX 970 and in task manager I saw process uses 0% of cpu and about 400Mb of RAM... no crash window, no splash screen - completly nothing. Few days later I'got RTX3060 and for every version results are the same.

R7 3800X, 32gb RAM and Windows 11...

I've tried to run exec manually form folde dx12 and dx11... and redownload whole game.

to be precise I've got Collectors Edition edition od W3 where all dlc were downloaded separately. I don't play Complete Edition becaouse there is no transfer of achievements :(

Downloaded GOTY and it's worked....

They removed HBAO+ to push for the RT thing, at the cost of killing every non-RT card player.

4.01, I'm now down to sub 60fps in Velen villages on a 2070 super paired with a 3700x (RT off, DLSS Balanced, Hairworks Off, other settings high/ultra + as recommended by geforce experience). This is both in DX11 and DX12; on 4.0hf2, I was usually getting 70+ in most situations. Obviously the Screen Space Reflections fix might have impacted, but the drop is a bit painful.

I'm considering moving to DLSS Performance and dropping down things like grass quality and distance.

Whatever they did, game is -25% performance out of nowhere, at least for me. I guess i need an i11 and 3x5070Ti to play this 60+.
nVidia Experience recommended settings only brings 21fps now, it`s that bad. Even they are confused. It was what i used. for several playthroughs.
Here is still a horrible performance! even after this patch. I don't see significant visual changes that justify this big loss of performance, I have 24gb of RAM, RTX 3070 card, i7 8700k and I'm having absurd drops below 47 fps in some scenarios.
The thing that annoys me most is that the game looks, mainly, the same to the GOTY version.
All this pain for... what?
