You can't use Print Screen with Witcher 3. The way it does graphics prevents it.
You have to use FRAPS, OBS or another grabber.

mepe_ruse: have you tested other games that you added to your Steam library or only tested games bought on Steam?

AmmokKDE: Just tested my other games, as this idea seemed possible. Sadly (or rather luckily) it still works in other games, so yeah, seems W3 is the problem after all.
just did a quick search on the Steam forums & found this https://steamcommunity.com/ap p/292030/discussions/0/615086038665413729/ somebody posted a fix that might also work for you

the same person in the thread i linked has also posted a fix in the GoG forums

Dude, read the thread before you post. The issue is that those fixes doesn't work and get OTHER suggestions.

"Dude" have you actually read the links a posted as they are not the same fix, yes they may involve the same files but the actual fix is different. Also there are posts in the Steam thread i linked that confirm this fix worked & the OPs problem of not being able to take screenshots using the Steam overlay.

I did. It's the exact same fix. Moving or deleting the files does the exact same. Prevents it from using the newly added files and it reverts back to the origin in the system32 folder.
The links you posted is the exact same as the one posted earlier. It's the exact same files, just the one you linked ignores a ton of other files.

Okay, for some reason renaming does NOT do the trick.
You have to DELETE dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll for screenshots to work again.

Interesting but okay.
