74 Hours and 36 Minutes gone. ):

I was stuck with the Vernon Roche bug, and doing side quests and map completion whilst waiting.
I remember the download for 1.08 crashing half way through. I thought nothing of it.

I load up the game this morning, and there are no saves.
I go to my save directory - no more save files.
I'm sure I've manually saved more than 20+ times, at the very least.

There are no local back ups of my save files.


Help please.

Usually deleted files are only marked as deleted for performance reasons. Unless they are overitten by other writings to your hard disk, there is a chance you may recover the lost files.
I cannot advise you any program for this though and I must issua a warning that there may be a huge amount of fake recovery programs from criminals. You should only download such programs from a source you have trust in.

I've managed to recover one good save. (The rest are corrupted), but it won't load due to being made using a 'newer' version of the game.

I am currently running 1.08.

The saves are 1.07.

Well, that doesn't make sense, as a 1.07 save should certainly open with the 1.08 patch. Could it be that your 1.07 save had a DLC that you haven't installed or activated with your 1.08 game? But, normally not having a DLC installed would give a different message.

Check to ensure you are not trying to open a 1.08 save with 1.07 game...

When Saving, if you use the ESC option, it will save each one. I found out if you use quick save ( F5 ), it will overwrite the last save. I had saved it when I got to Kaer Morhen to mess with the Ugly Baby. Got done with it, then remembered a Note I had picked up from a Witcher named Berenger. I had to look online, and found it was a quest with others. Well, I went to talk to Vesemer, and nothing. Those quests needed to be run, BEFORE you completed the Ugly Baby thing. I decided to load where i came into Kaer Morhen, and discovered that file had been over written as did all the rest. If you use the ESC option, it won't over write a file unless you specify it to do so.
