Hi!

I encountered a weird problem after installing patch 1.07. Every time I try to launch the game, an error message pops up with the title "MatchesCountError" and a short series of random symbols on top of an "OK" button. There's no other response from the game, just that little window popping up. I have no clue what to do. I have included a screenshot of the error message.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Are you using a mod (Console Enabler mod)? Update it.
If not remove or rename the dsound.dll and start the game.

No mods. I tried updating and verifying the game. It was already up to date and nothing was wrong. But get this: now, if I try to launch it and I wait for a couple of seconds without closing the error message, the game launches as usual and works. The plot thickens! Any ideas?
Nope, but you could rename the dsound.dll and verify/repair the game after this. So the error message should go away.
Also, the music is not working despite the volume being set to 100%. All other sounds work. Funny enough, if I launch it from Steam as an external app (I got the GOG version, so I often launch it from Galaxy) the music works.

It might be worth noting that both Galaxy and Steam show this error message.

Didn't renaming the named file (dsound.dll) help?
Oh hey! Renaming dsound.dll and verifying actually did it! And the music now works. Still no changes applied during verification, so I guess the music thingy was an unrelated issue.

In any case, thank you very much for your help! Problem solved!
Haha, sorry. I posted my third message before reading yours about dsound. I was being asynchronous there for a moment. My bad :-)

No problem. Have fun with your game again!
