I have been having lots of stuttering on a pc that should not stutter. Its a i7 6700k with gtx 970 and 16 gb ddr4 mem. Win 8.1 with every update and all latest drivers. Any fixes? Just answer possible solutions and dont ask if i have done this or that. I have done all i can think of

I'm running this game on a i7-980x with GTX 970 on 8GB ram on Win 7.
My settings are all set on Ultra. The game is running very smooth, even walking in Novigrad or battles with a lot of enemies. No stuttering at all. CD Project really improved the performance after the last patch.

Your GPU can easily run Ultra on 1080p resolution.
Set everything on Ultra (POST SETTINGS and ADVANCED GRAPHICS) and try enabling VSYNC on and put the frame settings on UNLIMITED. And set the windows mode on FULL SCREEN.

For you... hmm... maybe make some exception in your antivirus software (for "witcher3.exe" file).

haha i acually fixed the problem by instaling windows 10. Soemthing to do with the new skylake processors working on it better. plus something about the latest video drivers being something called wddm 2.0 that is only supported on win 10. now the game is smooth as butter
