So I just bought Witcher 3 today ( I know, I'm late) I played around 5 hours on it. Did couple of side missions and got to the point where I have to kill the griffin. I got this weird Invertory bug where I got stuck in my inventory while creating this potion I needed to kill the griffin so I had to Quit the game through Task manager. When I lauched the game again, it said I had no save files ( Though I saved alot ) and had the start a 'new game'. Wtf is wrong with this ? Anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it ? Will I have the same problem again after putting another 5 hours into it ?

Are you sure that the game was saved? Did you load any of the saves before the inventory bug? There's a possibility that your antivirus blocks access to save folders. Try to disable it.

Are you playing through Galaxy? If Galaxy had not synced any saves (which is probable), when you restart the game Galaxy will sync your saves to none, because that's what it thinks is your state of play. If that's the case, they're gone.

The saves are located on your windows drive in DRIVELETTER:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves
Check if the savegames exist and make a copy of them on a different drive.
Force a "chkdsk" on the windows drive on next reboot and reboot.
Make sure your computer clock is set correctly. I've had similar issues with my clock being off by 30+ years, due to bad clock sync.
