So, I've started a new Witcher 3 playthrough. Medium armor, this time. I plan to get Wolf School gear eventually, for lore and aesthetic, and I'll use Griffin before that's possible. Unfortunately... before that, I have to grapple with this game's intricately terrible gear system.

My question is, does anyone know a reliable way to get decent level 5-7 medium armor? I figure it'll carry me through before I can get the griffin set. Swords are a bit easier to get, but most armor I find seems to be light. And of course the game throws level 16 schematics at me in the elven ruins you visit with Keira, because the inventory system was designed by squirrels.

Temerian (DLC) armour. Requirement is level 4 and you can buy it in White Orchard. It is light armour, but it will see you through to getting the Griffin stuff.
I guess it's an option. I already took the medium armor skill, but it's not like I need it that much in early game.
