Hi guys,

Due to slow internet... I've finished downloading the game yet, but whant to know if someone managed to test the game on a laptop.

My specs are:

- i7 3635QM (Quad-core 6M Cache, up to 3.40 GH)
- ATI Radeon 8870M 2GB
- 8 GB

If you able to run the game tell me yours so I can compare and know if I can even run it...

Thank you, guys <3

Heh, well. I just got in to the game using a 780 and i7 with a big overclock and it pretty much kills my system on anything over mainly MEDIUM settings. So don't get your hopes up.

Luckily even medium looks good, many times better than W2 on highest.

There is a 60fps cap (can be increased with config tweaks it seems), but don't worry because you wont get near it lol.

G-Sync really comes in to it's own in this game for keeping things smooth :P

Eh, sound sad... I can run High in DAI... Why... :(
Also keen to hear how this runs.

I have an old-ish G73 laptop with an GTX 460M 1.5g vram and 8gb of system RAM. Hoping it might cope on the lowest settings. It runs everything else I play very well.
But even if I'm dropping the resolution and running on the lowest settings I'll be happy, not too fussed about visuals, I just want the gameplay.
Runs at 12fps on my Asus k53sv. Haven't updated nvidia drivers yet, and I'm on Win10, but I don't think it would help with newer drivers and older Windows.
Anyway, the game is still smooth after all. I don't really like the graphics that much, I find it confusing. W2 was waaay cleaner and beautiful on low settings.
Hello there!

Playing W3 on a laptop here. Did a nice 4 hour run since the release.

Specs:

Nvidia GTX 765M 2 GB
8 GB 1.600 mhz dual-channel
i7-4710MQ 3.5 GHZ (When boosted)
Win 8.1 64bit

My settings:

1366x768
Blurr - on
Light Shafts - on
Textures - medium
Details - medium
Vsync - on

Rest is down to LOW.

Stable 25+ FPS. Bare in mind that I do not exactly meat the minimum with my GPU. Mobile GPUs suck big time when it comes to raw power. It is pretty much playable and enjoyable.

I'm so out of touch with gpu and specs in general. How do you think my 460m will fare compared to your 765m?
I'm prepared to have everything at the lowest settings and drop the resolution a lot, I just want to get up to 30fps. This is a long day at work :(
Hey Mejis!

I am not sure how will it run. Provided that you have the system on your laptop in good shape and drivers updated, you might be able to hit 20+ on lower resolutions.

I am not sure if you have enough vram on your GPU though. So better ask around google :). Or get a cheap PC. As much as I love my gaming laptop...well...you just saw its gaming performance :D

Your 460m is a lot better than my 540m, but I don't think you'll reach 30fps. Lowest resolution is 1024x768, which is not that low and so not that better performance.

I'm running it on Ultra with an Alienware M17x R4 which is running the 7970M, I have had zero issues.

**EDIT**

When I posted this, I was not measuring FPS in any way, the game just felt to play fine. I decided to install fraps and was getting below 30fps. I have tweaked it a bit using the NVIDIA guide and it works much better. I have locked it to 30FPS though.

Hello Alienware brother! :D 14 here ^^

One more thing I noticed. Locking the game to 30 FPS in the menus seems to help out a bit for no logical reason. Maybe becasue the game stops trying to butcher my hardware more to get past the 30 FPS mark.

I'm running it on a G56JR which has a GTX 760M and a i7 4700HQ. I more or less checked NVIDIA's tweaking guide and this is what I did:

1) Set to High
2) Turn off Hairworks
3) Leave SSAO on
4) Turn off Blur and Motion Blur (they just give me a headache)
5) Chromatic Aberration - I left it on but you can try turning it off if you want. Should have a negligible impact on fps.
6) Turn off Depth of Field
7) Reduce Foliage Visibility to Medium
8) Grass Density - Leave it on Medium or High
9) Leave Light Shafts on
10) Number of Background Characters on High - Mostly irrelevant according to NVIDIA since there are never that many characters anyway.
11) Shadow Quality - Leave it on Medium or High
12) Leave Sharpen on
13) Terrain Quality - I left it on High if memory serves
14) Texture Quality - Set it to High and see how it goes
15) Turn off Vignette
16) Water Quality - Leave it on High and see how it goes
17) Set max fps to 30

I think that about covers it. Bear in mind this is just a preliminary guide and you will most likely have to fiddle around a bit to adjust it to your rig. Alternatively, you could choose Medium settings and it should be decent enough. I'll try and check on fps rate when I get home but I believe there's a limit to what we can do by tweaking this settings.

SSAO is a mobile GPU killer. Turn it off seriously. Your card is slower than mine 765m. If you manage to get W3 to run in 30 on those settings you will be my hero :D
This game is incredibly scalable. My 860M and 4810MQ with ultra/high (minus hairworks) is giving me more than playable frames (haven't tested fps yet) but definitely over 40fps. Turn up the eye candy and 2 GTX Titans give you 40fps at 4K... and that's BEFORE we turn on ubersampling.
I tried it on my Asus G55VW(i7, GTX660M, 12GB ram). With graphical settings set to the lowest it only achieved 20+fps. It achieved 30+fps if you set the resolution to the lowest at 1024x768.
