Hi, i'm buying a laptop and i would like to install the witcher 3 (from gog) on an external hdd.
Will i be able to do that?
My laptop has only a 512gb ssd so i "can't" install the game on the main drive.

If you download the .bat files from GOG for playing offline. You can install the game anywhere.
I do this as a standard backup for all my GOG games.

Running large games from an external drive will totally depend on the connection (USB or other type) speed.

I would seriously consider upgrading your SSD.
I switch my fav game at the moment to the C: drive,
The rest are on a 6TB dedicated drive.
