I'm in the process of finishing a Witcher 2 save to get things exactly like I want to start 3. And it lets bugs and things get worked out before I dive into the game too. I'm trying to find out if starting equipment in 3 is altered by decisions made in 2 the same way starting equipment in 2 could depend on decisions in 1. And if so, what items? I'm wondering if I should bother with the Oathbreaker or Kinslayer and that sort of thing if it has no bearing on the next game.
