MojoWifi: First off let me just say WOW!...The hype was real, I can't believe it took me so long to try this game out. It took me a couple of hours to get into it, but now I feel like I'm hooked. I have a question about the armor though. I tried looking this up myself but couldn't seem to find the answer. It's about the Witcher gear and Grand Master gear. Now do I need to be a certain level to craft this gear and also once I get it does it scale up with my level? I mean lets say I really like a certain set, do I need to keep crafting it with my level? I'm just really confused about the good gear in the game and crafting it in general. Thank you for any clarification you can provide me on this matter!
Hi there.
Let me explain some things real quick.
1.Any piece of equipment can be crafted at any time, as long as you have the resources to craft it and can find a craftsman, whose expertise level matches the required one, to craft the specific piece of equipment.
2.To equip any piece of equipment, your character has to meet the level cap of that equipment. If your character is below the level required, by a specific item to be equipped, than he cannot equip it.
3.Any crafted equipment does not scale with the character's level. The moment a piece of equipment is crafted, its basis stats remain the same for the rest of the game. Some pieces of equipment can be upgraded when you find the appropriate diagrams.
4.The only sets of equipment that can be upgraded, are the Witcher gear sets. A fully upgraded Witcher gear set appears as a "Grand Master Witcher gear set", in the inventory description and the diagrams used to upgrade the lesser version of the Witcher gear set. It takes time to find the upgrade diagrams, so it's not a level by level progression equipment upgrade.
If it helps, you can think of every upgrade as a new Witcher gear set, that only requires you to have already crafted and available, while crafting the new set, the immediately previous version of the Witcher gear set currently crafted.
That is all you need to know for now. I am sure you will get a hang of the rest in due time.
Have fun!
