I cant find Insectoid Oil anywhere, im pretty sure I have the upgrades as well which makes them useless to me.. I've currently finished the battle of Kaer Morhen, and I have checked Keiras shop and its not there ... all the other post says its there ... also been to see all the herbalist everywhere, including Germist... and I also know diagram
locations are random, so all I want is locations where everyone got theirs so I will have a ruff idea where to look ... please!!

it is sold by kiera mets or found in a quest called wandering in the dark. found this in cd projekt red forums. hope this helps

It has been one of the very first diagrams that I have found in my newest game, somewhere in White Orchard - it probably has spawned in some chest somewhere in your game but you've missed that one.

One time I was running trough Novigrad and jumped into the canal, when suddenly a chest was lying in front of me - and one of it's contents was a base recipe that I was missing for 50+ hours already. It must have spawned on my first visit of the town.

i been to Kiera, done that mission .. im not entirely sure sure if I looked everywhere in the cave .. I thought I did .. but worth looking again ... ive just done the battle at Kaer Morhen , and I expected it to be in her shop there, was very frustrating when it wasn't

I think in White Orchard it was the Temerian Valuables quest .. I know I didn't get it there ..

If you can't find it in those places, check the herbalist in Rannvaig, Ard Skellig.

While occasionally you can find a specific oil at a specific vendor, they are typically random loot. Just keep exploring.

I have found that many of the oils and diagrams seem to be in loot boxes around the Witcher gear quests - but maybe that's just my game...
