The most amusing thing to me about Gwent is how in Witcher 1 and 2, dice poker, which is essentially 95% luck of the rolls was treated by the NPCs as a game, which requires incredible skill to play. Gwent on the other hand, which is 90% deckbuilding and skill, is treated as a game of pure chance.
Honestly, I don't think there isn't a whole lot of luck in gwent, if you have good cards, build a decent deck (i.e. have several spies, healers and buffs), you will win most of the time. It's a well designed little game.
I think it's much more interesting than the old dice poker.
