Hi guys,

I just got my boxed copy of the GOTY. So far I only had the digital version of the main game (no DLC). The normal game is currently installed via Galaxy on Windows PC. It's fully patched and up-to-date. Now I'd like to install the GOTY because of the DLC.

Is it possible to just backup and reuse my normal savegame for the GOTY or are there any known problems?

Yes. The GOTY and the release version of the game are the same. Saves ON THE PC are fully compatible. Consoles treat the GOTY saves differently, and are NOT compatible.
