I mentioned this in a previous post, but in case others didn't see it, or didn't know about this alternative, I wanted to re-post it. If you have the latest NVidia driver you may have noticed something called GForce Experience. After poking around in this I saw that it has detected my Witcher 3 game, and had created a launcher for it. This is outside of GOG, and apparently bypasses it altogether. I like the backup feature of GOG, but the rest can go away as far as I'm concerned. I doubt GOG will keep my progress updated for any future backup if I do not use it's launcher, but I will do some experimentation to see how it acts when I use the NVidia launcher. If anyone else has more info about this I would like to hear it.
