the bug i am referring to is the one where geralt decides he does not want to attack or use signs anymore while the enemy just chews on his ♥♥♥ all of a sudden in mid combat, this happened during the wild at heart quest in the final phase for the first time and is now plaguing me ever since, i can play for 5 minutes in combat or so untill this happens.

i had it happen to me again a few minutes after starting today while fighting some drowners a few minutes ago, and sadly,.the only way of fixing this is a full restart of the game as far as i know, reloading a save creates even more bugs

does anyone have a way to fix this? because up until this point i was really enjoying the game

You try a full reinstall of the game? Does it affect a new game started at this point?

Sometimes that happened to me, but it wasnt a game breaking. The thing is that it almost didnt happen with me.

How much is it happening with you? If you´re just experiencing this problem sometimes, then its the same as it was with me. Dont treat the game as a perfect mechanism, because nothing is. Some situations happens sometimes like the boat getting a little bit stuck due to dead sirens on the sea.

If this is happening just occasionally here and there, you can roll, dodge, runaway a little bit while you try to get the sword working.

I dont believe that a reinstall will help you. For that you should have a deleted file, or a corrupted one that really could break the game as a whole, and not on a fight. Things just dont get solved by miracles. A reinstall would just place the files again in your HD. There wont be any change in the programming, which is the cause of this.

So roll, dodge, and hang on till they release the new patch.

Yeah, happens to me too from time to time. Just yesterday Geralt stood still for around 2-3 seconds in 2 separate fights (whater hag contract, and the ghost in the 'catacomb' side quest in Skellige).

I usually can recover just fine though.

@ paladin, i didn't do a reinstall, i did verify the files, but everything was in order, so i doubt a reinstall would help

@ canned, sometimes it happens within the first 5-10 minutes of playing, and sometimes an hour or so later. wich is odd, since the first 6 hours i played i did not get the bug once, it started during the "wild at heart" quest at first. it happens a bit too frequent for my taste, and sadly, it's a shame it happens.

i'm well aware nothing is perfect, but this seems like a glaring issue that somehow got through testing.

i did get it again when i was fighting wraiths last night, but i just ran away and it fixed itself, i had my xbox one controller plugged in for that session to see if it would help and for some reason it was stuck on the KB+M icons, i could run away with the controller, but same as with KB+M, i could not attack untill i was clear from combat and reengaged the enemy.

I have been having a problem where the game changes signs on me. Last used Igni but go into a battle and its changed to Yrden or Quen????

Pretty sure its not me accidentally hitting a button :-(

Sign can be changed by scrolling the mouse wheel on PC.
