Hi,

Does the Galaxy overlay work with the GOTY edition of TW3? I've purchased it yesterday and apparently the shift+tab combination does nothing, although I did enable the overlay in settings. Did I forget about something?
I don't have GOTY btw, but it doesn't work on my game either "anymore".

Some days back everything worked - seems one of the more recent updates broke it. Maybe the key combination was changed?

In addition Galaxy Client doesn't count my total play time anymore. It stopped at 53h 25m, while the in game timer (character screen lower right) states 151h 5m =)
The counter does work for me, achievements are also being tracked, but the overlay doesn't work. I doubt we both have the same problem, but it may be related.
So... as of now: is anyone out there with a working Galaxy Overlay (GC version 1.1.15b) on Witcher 3 (version 1.31)?
Just received the Galaxy Client update to version 1.1.17b and the overlay works again :-)

You might want to check the DLC option "game overlay" within the Galaxy Client's game settings tho - mine had lost the checked state after the update. Re-ticking it the "Game Overlay DLC" got downloaded, installed and can be opened again from within the game :)

I don't have any DLC installation options, I'm playing the GOTY (1.31) version, those are integrated
That might be correct, but since I've got multiple places where DLCs are listed, I think you're confusing something here. Of course the DLCs like Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are integrated within the GOTY, but I'm talking about a different set of options and I think this special Galaxy Overlay setting should be present in the GOTY too - even if it's "called a DLC".

It's not really a DLC - it just uses of the DLC installation routines featured in the Galaxy Client.

As I said - you _might_ be correct, because you really got a different product - but this would be highly illogical. That's why I ask you again to do this:

1. open the Galaxy Client
2. select Witcher 3 GOTY
3. click on "More" button right next to the "Play" button
4. click on "Settings" from the opening drop down/context menu
5. look at the options.

Mine are called:
a) Updates
a.a) Install updates (automatically)
b) Game
b.a) Select Language (English)
b.b) DLCs Installed
b.b.a) Game Overlay « « « « « « « « « « « « HERE! I think you've got this too, but not those below this point..
b.b.b) Free DLC Program (16 DLC)
b.b.c) Hearts of Stone
b.b.d) Blood and Wine

GOTY or not, I'm _pretty sure_ that the "Game Overlay" option should be there for you too, because it is _optional_ with the GOG Galaxy Client and that is a marketing principle invented by GOG to _always_ have the GOG Client stuff as an _optional_ trait. Having GOTY does *not* imply using all features of the Galaxy Client - it just implies having all additional *content* included that has been released so far. Game Overlay != paid content.

//edit
Even tho enabled, Overlay ceased to work again. Kinda spasmodic -.-

I can't even get the option to enable it. I've bought and installed (from discs, my internet is really slow) the goty edition Yet, in galaxy, the settings tab has just settings regarding the updates and the game languages. Nothing about game overlay and DLCs installed (despite the fact that I can access all of them ingame)

Oh, I see. Yarp, didn't expect this at all. Mine looks like this - and when I tick/untick the checkbox for the overlay, the client would fetch some 3.9mb data package.

After installing the overlay I get multiple new files in multiple directories. Here are some examples that get added to the ./bin/x64/ directory:

- GogGalaxyHooks.dll
- GogGalaxyHooks.pdb

...along with several other d3d*, dx* and xinput* files. Does the GOTY contain the file ./bin/x64/GogGalaxyHooks.dll ?

Nope, it doesnt. Just a Galaxy.dll. My guess is that the goty counts as a whole different game for whom the option available for the standard game haven't been made available (yet?)

I don't use Galaxy, but apparently they have. Read the original post again... quote:
"I've purchased it yesterday and apparently the shift+tab combination does nothing, although I did enable the overlay in settings."
Oy, thanks for pointing that out Hickory =)

I've put a link to this thread into a support request. The answer by gp0n was that it's bundled with the GOTY and "should work correctly". He/she forwarded the request to the Galaxy development team.

Hope they'll fix it soon. Witcher 3 is not some "very foreign 5th party" application after all, hehe :-)

Maybe we find similarities in the meantime? I for one am in borderless window mode and open the quick menu on tab (which always triggers on shift+tab too). I'm using a Corsair K95 RGB with CUEv1 and German layout.
