Finally playing this game and it is quite well.

However, repairing just seems bothersome, and I never do it.

Does anyone ever actually repair any of their stuff?

I might if it were super cheap, but right now I just do not see the point.

It would be cool if they would just remove repairing or lower the price.

I also do not see the point in consuming alcohol to restore bombs and potions.

Early game it just keeps you from specing into alchemy, and late game it does not really matter. They could just as easy make bombs and potions refill when resting and remove the alcohol requirement.

It was on my mind so I figured I would make a post about it.

The game is rad either way.

Of course. Not repairing leaves your equipment sub-par, with your armour not giving you the protection it should, and your weapons not inflicting the damage that they should. Why wouldn't you?

You need to go and play the first Witcher game.

I repair my equipment fairly regularly. The only exception is if I I'm close to leveling up and will replace that piece of gear.

As far as the alcohol goes, bottles of Dwarven Spirit and Alcohest are actually easy to come by. Check containers as you explore the world. For the lore explanation, I assume that a Witcher's potions are infusions: the herbs stay in the vessel, and Geralt refills them with alcohol.
Nah,I get it, I played the first 2 games.

I just do not see the value in repairing. Maybe if I could repair all my gear for 100 crowns.

I will just keep using signs and playing cheap, heh.

The alcohol thing just pushes you away from alchemy early game. I had planned on going alchemy, but not having many bombs or potions with little alcohol at the start made me go signs instead.

Game is still rad and it is not like it is a big deal or anything, heh.

repairing common items is a foolish work but if you go further in the game and find some cool witcher gear - you have to repair them ! I don't like repairing either
if you don't like to pay any npc to repair your items - bring some repair kits with you

No way, my witcher sword is working fine at 0 durability, heh.

It only removes like maybe 1/5th of the items stats, or whatever.

Still good enough to kill stuff 10-20 levels above me, heh.

Right now I am using the enhanced griffin set.

I am level 24 and just about cleared the velen and novigrad map/s. Left only spider village and spider cave I think, along with one area I can not reach... looks future questy.

Killed the archgriffin at level 15 playing on 2nd hardest difficutly.

try bear school gear - extremely powerful and the most beautiful gear in the game (in my opinion)
master crafted version is much better than other armors and weapons in standard game (without additional content(s))

Yeah, have not seen bear yet. Guessing it is in the next area.

Main quest should be forcing me to leave to next island soon. Not that I could not have left long ago, heh.

I can craft most of the enhanced and superior stuff for the other sets and even master craft ursine, but am missing starter for wolf cause it is in a different area.

Guess ursine starter is probably not in velen either, but I wanted to clear out almost everything I could before I left.

Thought about trying to gitch my way onto the hill with the tree and dragon or whatever flying around it, but it looks like a questy area and I do not really want to screw up my game, heh.
