Did the GOTY version make the game more stable, the graphics smoother and overall improved the whole thing? My old version, installed manually on the go with piled update upon update, was like a stinking, sweating snail ready to collapse. Right now, i uninstalled it and put GOTY in. It runs so well for my machine and its specs, that i am almost amazed! And it certainly is NOT my impression, now it runs much better!

My question is twofold:

Did the GOTY version tweak graphics and improve performance overall? Or i got unlucky and one of the many updates i put inside botched things up?

Either way, THANK you GOG and thank you! That GOTY gift was a perfect early Christmas present! You are the best!

Update on update made it run less smoothly. I had similar issues around the time of the first expansion and reinstalled
Afterwards it ran a lot more stable and seemed to consume less memory. Even the fix/repair in Galaxy didn't manage that result.

Huh that is interesting! I have had the game installed for over 6 months and updated/ patched a few times. Haven't noticed any major stability problems but If I get the free GOTY upgreade after buying the DLC I'll probably do a fresh install for a NG+
This settles it, then! I suspected something was off, all this time, since normal game started lagging terribly, at some point! Thank you for the reply, the confirmation and all.

What a blessing that gog suddenly decided to give us the whole, united thing! Now it runs a lot better than ever before!

I updated it from day 1, version 1.0. Most updates were done manually.. Around 1.12 issues started.
