This might be an advantage for controller users, but it is really starting to piss me of that I don't feel like I have full control

why does my horse always try to steer onto the road, Its so annoying when I want to explode.
(atleast give me the option to disable it)

why does garald always try to face the enemy even when I havn't locked on to them
( I WANT TO ATTACK THE ARCHER, OR THE GUY WITH LOW HP, IN THE BACK, BUT YOU KEEP TURNING AROUND )

am I the only one who feels like I takes your control?

and how does it feel to play on a controller?
The problems you are having also happen on the controller. I play with the keyboard and prefer the keyboard, only after rebinding some of the keys.

It's almost as if the horse has a mind of its own, unlike, say, a car.

yes lets compare real life with a computer game.
The horse is supposed to try and pathfind to the roads when you hold the run button. It is annoying, and wish it could be turned off. Honestly, I try to avoid using Roach as much as possible and just walk or fast travel.
The most annoying thing is in races when he just stops and whinnies for no reason!

They should have modeled the horse around Red Dead Redemption, the control on there was flawless!
Roach keep tracking the road ONLY if the player do not press any other directional buttons beside running

If you want to steer Roach manually, you'll have to press a directional button, like forward

For example i usually steer Roach with the mouse by keeping pressed Shift + W. Sharp turns still require pressing A or D, but usually you can manage

Now if you tell me that even in this way controlling Roach can be problematic...well yes, the controls in this game are some of the WORST i have seen in years

As for turning around to face opponents, again yes the controls suck, but in combat you may press the directional button in the generic position of your target based on the camera, usually Geralt turn to face it and attack

Notice how i underlined usually, sigh

Sometimes i had the impression of controlling a clown clumsily exhibiting stupid moves for children in the vain attempt of making them laugh, instead of a master swordsman

Hopefully future patches will abate the issue somewhat

I have no Idea as I have the opposite problem. If I don't Target the enemy ( Z key ) Gerault is all over the place and it is hard to keep hiom on target.
