I'm encountering technical issues with this quest. Specifically the part where I have to use a drowner pheromone potion to mask Geralt's scent in order to lure in the target.
The potion doesn't seem to work. I'm aware it's a quest-only item, and I'm using it inside the objective zone within the cave. When I drink it, Geralt's toxicity doesn't rise, and I receive no buff/debuff or even the "just swallowed a potion" audio cue.
I've tried reloading a dozen times, dropping and remaking the potion, leaving the area and coming back, waiting, and even removing all my Alchemy talents. No matter what, nothing happens when I use the pheromones and the quest doesn't progress.
I should mention that, going into the quest, I already acquired the pheromone recipe and had brewed it ages ago. I visited various alchemists to see if I could buy it again, but unsurprisingly no one was selling it.
Google suggests other people have had problems with this quest, but none with the exact same issue I have. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to fix it. I was thinking of removing/"forgetting" the pheromone recipe and then buying it again, but I don't think there is a way to do so.
