Hi all,

Any idea what we can do to get any statement from CDPR regarding if they will fix the issues with the 4.0 update, or if they ran away from it?

Anyone has any open Tech Support cases where this question had been a topic?

I can really not believe it... they released a vastly broken update and over a month later we have no idea what, if anything, is done to fix it. This is not the CDPR that deserved my money and loyality...

That version of CDPR has died, unfortunately. This is the new standard now.

They will do maybe another update early Feb (from what the tweets on twitter point at) AND then if there are still issues they might do another couple and quickly abandon the game to move onto the 4th Witcher game.

Because they used the stupid dx11 to dx12 wrapper the game will ALWAYS have performance issues unless they recode the entire game into dx 12.

Has that wrapper-thing been definitley confirmed? I think it's the most likely theory, but haven't seen a fully conclusive pointer.

I agree that this is likely what will make it impossible for them to fix the issues, I wish they would at least enable DLSS in DX11 version (the game needs it at 4K, even on a 2080 Super you can't hit 60FPS).

The improvements made to the DX11 presentation are nice enough, not groundbreaking but better integtrated than a separate bunch of mods. Even then, it runs too slow.

I wouldn't interpret it that way, but as turning away in disgust. Only too understandable.
Hopefully CDPR will learn from this and refrain from expensive gifts to the whining sqeaky ducks in the future.

You do understand that...

1) Some people *bought* the game because of the next gen release and...

2) For people who bought the game before that, the automatic update actually broke a game that was working.

???

I'm getting quite sick of this "you can't complain about free things" argument. If your buddy promises to invite you out for dinner, and then takes you to the crappiest place in town with the worst food you ever had, are you supposed to be thankful?

You can't promise and hype a "gift" and then say "Oh, sorry, I gave you a turd, don't complain, it was free."
