cant run witcher 3 since 1.08 patch

I'm running w10 upgrade, was running fine until 1.08 updated now it just runs and then crashes in the background ,
got all permissions set to admin, still nothing removed all driver for graphics and reinstalled still nothing done a full reinstall of the game nothing still.

used dxcpl to force dx 11_1 not fixed, removed gog galaxy still not working

Some more information would be helpfull. Did you get some error message. Do you use Galaxy or not? Have you upgraded to Windows 10 or not? Did something happen when you click the exe file?

I saw another post where a person had a similar problem after upgrading to W10. The answer, in their case, was to re-install their video drivers, which W10 very kindly replaced. Try it.
made the post first then edited it as it takes forever to make the post in one go ,
need any more info ?

did that already, used ddu to remove my catalyst driver 100% then reinstalled

Just found this: Just remove dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll from the x64 folder and the game starts again. perhaps dont delet the files, just take them out of the folder and try if this helps so you can restore them easy and fast.

don't have those files in my x64 folder
OMFG how lame is that, just stumbled across something I tried it and it fixed the game

I went to my documents backed up my witcher folder there, then deleted the entire contents of it, them tried to run the game and bingo it works now,

so now to hope I can insert my latest game save so I don't have to start again
That's nice! Hope you can add your old savegames without any problems.
yup got my old save back now a happy boy, was so close to ripping out w10 lol

might want to add that fix to your sticky thread as a option for others to try

i found out something else after i reactivated the triss look dlc i got the crashes again
The one thing about upgrading to Windows 10, you upgrading from DX 11 to DX 12. Most video cards are DX11, but the new ones are DX12. Reinstalling the Drivers after upgrading seems to be the key from what I've seen.
