I can't hear the voices of characters when its clear they are supposed to be speaking. I have tried configuring the speakers to stereo, quadraphonic, 5.1 and 7.1 surround, and I did get some extremely muddy and quiet voices on 5.1 but it was not at all usable. Any advice?

Update / Repair game to ensure you are on latest version of game, patch, DLC package and expansions. Each of these components have been updated recently.
