How *not* to ask a question. Try again. Be lucid, and give more information about your setup and problem.
oh yeah, win10 64bit. not sure what else to say, it let me play the other day, windows updated, now nothing. ive restarted the computer and reinstalled both gog and the game
hmmm, so u start the game and nothing happens? no error message? no script message? any mods installed?

if u really changed nothin with the game itself (and no new game-updates) the only thing i have in my head atm is when witcher 3 cant go online (blocked by a firewall) it dont starts and gives u no error message.
all other errors normally should show u a message.

Win10 update problem. no error message, no script, no mods. Play button was green would depress, even turn grey fro a sec but then right back to green but no screen pops or anything. anyway, i just flashed back to an older, not sure what to call it, and no problems. the update was also keeping my steelseries keyboard from lighting up properly so it was necessary anyway.
i see. maybe someone else can help u with win10, i dont use it. sorry
Same here, still waiting for a fix :<
using a not finished windows means it will have many bugs. and win10 isnt finished. plus: if u install win-preview-versions u will have many more bugs.
a good example is the current build 11102, its crashing many games:
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/bug-in-windows-10-insiders-build-crashes-games.html

"Microsoft already stated that titles like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed and Metal Gear Solid V are effected but also states it's likely a wider range of games involved."

is it possible you installed this build?

I have the same problem as the original poster.
I click Play, the button turns grey, then after about 10 seconds, it just turns back to green and nothing else happens. The 'witcher3.exe' process in my task manager quits silently at the same time.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with the latest patches, so it shouldn't be a Windows 10 specific problem. I made many 'verify files' loops. I don't believe I have any mods installed at this point. (I had the console mod, but I think I deleted it manually.) I'm not sure how to make sure all mods are disabled, though...

The only way to be able to run Witcher 3 again is to downgrade it to the 1.11 patch through Galaxy. Every time I run the 1.11 patch, I'm good. As soon as I update to 1.12 (now 1.12.1), it crashes as described.
I have 16 GB RAM, never any big issues, accumulated hundreds of hours of play time so to me, it's really related to the latest game patch, not Windows itself...

Please help, I'd like to be able to run the final add-on when it's out. :(

i would try to uninstall the game, delete the complete game-folder (not your saves, this folder is at another place). than reinstall it. some mods (like the console-mod) are installed in the game-folder, not the mod-folder. its hard to uninstall it.

plus: some mods dont work anymore with new witcher3 versions and they could produce bugs. so uninstall / new install seems to be the best way to be sure its not a problem with the game- or leftover mod-files.
and u could download and install the game-files manually without galaxy.

if its still not working i would start with checking the graphics-drivers to search for a solution. for nvidia-cards: im using nvidia driver 358.91 at the moment (current is 361.91), win7 64bit too, all updates without win10 spam, never had this problem.

I don't think it was related to mods...
I uninstalled, and noticed I had no leftover files, so there really were no mods... Then reinstalled from my old install files. and it refused to patch itself, so I uninstalled again, then re-downloaded ALL files (35+ GB), then installed them, Visual C++ redist refused to install properly, had to kill the task a few times (nice), then installed everything else in order, went to Galaxy... Didn't even have the game in it. So I imported my folder, and it wanted to download an extra GB of data... Okay, I hit Cancel, left everything, launched Witcher 3 from its start menu shortcut, which magically added the game back to Galaxy, without any need to download extra stuff (even after a 'Repair' step I initiated.) Kudos to the Galaxy/web/installer developers for doing things in such a complicated way.
Anyway, after several hours of work, it's now working again.

Also, it fixed the Price of Honor quest (unlockable chest), which I believe wasn't documented in the changelog... Or maybe it was fixed long ago but I needed to reinstall to get the fix to work, I don't know. I don't want to know. My copy is ready for Blood & Wine and it's free of any quests, that's all I needed.

some mods change original files, so there wouldnt be leftover files when u uninstall the game.
but whatever, sometimes its hard work to install a game/updates, happens to everyone. im glad u found a solution.
