I just started a new game of Witcher 3 and I can't get past the first step of the tutorial! The game shows the prompt to use the mouse to move the camera. I do. The camera moves. The tutorial stays.

I've rotated any number of times in all directions. I've tried using my old Xbox controller. It works fine for rotating but the tutorial still doesn't realize I've done it. I can wander all around and move the camera plenty but the tutorial won't go to the next step! No next step means I'm locked in that room until I get frustrated and jump to my death off the balcony.

The tutorial does not ask you to move the camera around, it asks you to use your witcher senses, so that you can find the key to the door. That's how you get out.

That's later. First it wants you to move your camera around.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. You can turn them on again as soon as you get out of the room.

It went straight to Witcher Vision for you?? It should have told you how to move the camera, how to move around, how to use 'e' to turn off candles, and so on. (I tried playing the game a couple of months ago but quit to wait for a new video card.)

Welcome to the tutorial
Move using W.A.S.D.
Press Middle Mouse Button to use your Witcher senses
Find hidden objects

That's it. Is 'move using W.A.S.D.' what you meant by the camera?

I wonder if you happened to move the mouse a little when you pushed the prompt on the welcome message, and promptly "solved" the step before it even got to display?

Oh well - I'm not hearing a lot of people saying "me too" so I guess it's just something weird on my machine. I vaguely remember having a little trouble with it when I first started the game a few months ago but that still kciked in after just a few seconds. Maybe a mouse driver thing? {shrug}
