oh dear, well this is fun, I like to do side quests first, so today thought I'd get this one done, followed the foot prints, got to the nest, and didn't know what to do. so had a read on the iNet. I'm suppose to examine the dead griffin.

Well the 'E' is not showing on the dead griffin, nowonder I was stuck, after more reading, it's maybe because I picked up the buckthorn before I tried to examine the big bird. great programming!

I tried to drop /sell the blackthorn but to no avail.

same problem with 'missing in action' can't click on the burnt corpse.

I re-installed [clean] the witched, same thing, done too many side quests to satrt again. I'll try that debug console, see if there is a way to flag those two quest parts completed.

All the best

PS thought this was an open world game pfft, it won't let me venture into some parts, saying I'll die. who cares, I want to go where I want to go.{roche was very upset ^^}

This IS an open world game, stop complaining and wait until you get past the prologue at least. You'll be able to see Velen and Skelliga, both are huge.

Cavenagh: the falklands are ours
Harsh.

I did not make the mistakes you made, as I noted on the internet a few days before playing that to get the buckthorn before you are told to would cause you to miss the chance to see an extremely beautiful (albeit pixelated) ass...

Game is long enough. Start yours over, boyo
I don't think it has anything to do with buckthorn, as I had a lot of that before I found the griffin nest. It was before I met the herbalist too. I accidentally found the nest, while exploring, and examined everything before talking to the hunter. I ended up loading when I saw that red X's were added to the hunter, indicating I missed out on his part of the quest.

I missed out on the hunter (red x in questlog) as well. I examined the dead soldiers area before getting the griffon contract.

That is how you miss out on the herbalist (and her ass) - by getting buckthorn before you acquire the griffon contract quest (from the Nilf Officer).

Cavenagh: it was tongue in cheek, if you can't help me, then fuckoff . the falklands are ours
All I did was telling you that this is indeed an open world game, and this is how you answer me? Fine, so be it, but let me tell you that you are being an asshole, mate.
