Equipping bolts then using the crossbow underwater fully ignoring the base damage of the crossbow. The damage caused that way is like 1-15 (the value the bolts have). So whenever you go swimming/diving remove any bolts from the slot.

Care to elaborate?
Eradicated some seven drowners using split bolts - one hit kills, all of them.
Using an empty slot, you are using what ammo exactly?

Since the bug first occured to me i stopped using bolts at all. Tried to recreate the bug right now but its gone. All working as expected. Pretty sure i had the blunt bolts loaded, not sure about the crossbow though.
