I've read two pieces on information on this topic that have me a bit concerned.

1. A friend of mine said that the preload for Blood and Wine has already started on his steam account.
2. I read in this very forum that there will be no preload on GoG- Galaxy

Did my friend give me false information, or does Steam get a preload while GoG-Galaxy doesnt?
Seems like a very dumb move, if that would be the case.

no preload in your library and via GOG Downloader.

GALAXY should work iirc.

Check your library on the site. According to mine as of posting this it's a little over 4 hours until the preload is available.

GOG really needs to step up their game here. There is no excuse for Steam getting their preloads before GOG when at least if I didn't hear wrong publishers have complete control over preloads meaning Steam got there's because CDPR wanted them to.

Also while a lot of people will likely find this is still plenty of time to download the game fully before release, myself included, that kind of internet isn't the norm. For example the current average internet speed for the US is only 12.6mb/s with over half having less then 10mb/s. Just some food for thought before someone with very fast internet wants to complain about my complaining.

4 hours is not until preload.
4 hours is until release.

If the expansion is really 15 gig big it will take me around 2 hours to download.
I wanted to start playing right away.

It wouldnt even upset me if there was no preload for EVERYONE.
But seeing that Steam might have gotten a preload, this jhust makes me feel like I bet on the wrong horse.

As far as I know, there is no preload on Steam either.

That's right forgot it's getting a world wide release. That makes it simply then, GOG isn't allowing a preload at all. Even though they said they would.

This is really annoying..
Why not just do the normal preload routine?
Or at least make it clear as to what your planning to do. Confusion is the worst thing you could get.

I kinda wish there was a pre-load, especially since im on 300kb/s internet. A 2 hour 15gb download seems like a dream.

Well, that is exactly what they did: on your account page there is this timer, clicking off the seconds up until you/we can start downloading the expansion.
Leaves not much to imagination, does it?

beg your pardon but there does seem to bee a preload. over a gig dl on my account and the inventory svreen and such has changed with a note on startup that will bw 31st when game activates
this happened about two hrs ago or so


check for updates under manage game

... it had already been established that there is no preload.

But, if you start the download at the proposed time, then go to bed because it will be late then anyway - and then start the installation early next morning >>> you even had a preload!

only saying the inventory screen and such has already changed on my pc and looks like the ones in the youtube stuff. is all im saying. took awhile to dl manage folder and sync here. be danged if it didnt happen, if you wish i will post a grab of my inventory

I can DL the newest patch, the free DLC bundle and Hearts of Stone.
No Blood and Wine tho.

it does not say blood and wine per say but dl the new snc and such and wait for install and watch the inventory section. i had to change key bindings again. there were three dlcs or whatever

it kinda ticked me off to wait so long to sync folder and such and got suprised when invwentory and alchemy and such changed
looks nice but i hated changing keys again

i did note that i had to read notes or books more than once to get game to recognize it

i own hearts of stone and blood and wine but am cruising through the base game when dl changed things
