is there anyway to run the games at the same time?

this is one game, with the *option* to play each expansion individually - so if you want it all you just start a new game, then you progress the main game and unlock both expansion (quest)s or as stated before, start either HoS or BaW as an individual adventure with a ***prepared (levelled)*** witcher ^^ able to master it.

Never played the HoS/BaW individually, and highly recommend to play the main story first, if you haven't yet.
