Well I've tried to reach that so called crypt where I need to go for a quest for the scoia tel. Problem is, the gate leading there is closed in the village. If I go outside the town I can't go north because the surrounding is blocking me. If I go aaaaall the way south then east then north, I can't get there either because, well, the path just stops. If I go back to the undead they'll just kill me and I get a different map so that's obviously not where I need to go. So I have no idea how to actually get there. I tried out a lot of things but unless there is another way.or a way to open the gate, I can't do that quest.

I actually advanced the story once on accident which meant the scoia tell leaving and I got stuck with a quest I did not do. So I tried a previous safe. I really want to do this quest but I need directions on how to actually get there.

You need to go up the stairs by the merchants' gate and go through the door there. Then go through the next area until you come to the lake.

Go to where Iorveth hangs out. The path is around there. He hangs around past (up) the right stairs before you leave the main village gates.

That still confuses me. If I go up the stairs by the merchant's there's nothing I can do there. And I haven't seen Iorveth around at all. Only his men.

I don't see Iorveth. I only see the mines. :/

Well, hunt around for Iorveth. If you find him, you're in the right area.

Well I have tried every house and every path. I simply can't find him at all.

Ok I just loaded up the game to take a look. You go up the steps and immediately turn right, there should be a guard on the right. Go through the archway into 'outskirts of Vergen'. Walk through here until you come to a door that seems to lead underground. Walk through this area and then the next door which will take you back outside. This is where you need to be.

Hope this is more clear.

Obviously not true. You'd have found him if you looked everywhere. ;)

Simpler instructions:

Start at the top of the stairs to the tavern. Go outside the city gate near here. Go past the merchants. Before leaving the next gate, go up the stairs to the right. Go along to the right when you reach the top of the stairs. This should bring you into a new place, complete with Iorveth and the path you seek.
