So I finally picked up The Witcher 2 on PC.

I checked all the specs online, even ran the tests at www.canyourunit.com, but this game fails to do anything. Its so choppy it takes about 5 minutes for the title to load.

I have 4 GB of ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti
AMD phenom Black x4 965 quadcore

From what Ive read, these are above the recommended requirements, yet even on low I cant load the game, anyone have this happen?

It chugs exactly the same while I run at my max res which is 1680 x 1050 as it does at the lowest res (640 x 480)

Everything is disabled, this PC is good enough to run this game, am I doing something wrong? I really dont want to return it
There's nothing that looks inadequate about that equipment. You're more likely dealing with a bad case of crapware. Something on your computer is interfering with the ability of the game to load and run. Next try running from a "clean boot".
I'd do a clean up on the computer if I'd be you. You may have crap on your machine, that slows you down. My own specs are way below yours and I've managed to play Witcher 2 through with relatively good frame rate.

Of course, one thing, have you updated your Nvidia drivers? Maybe you are running too old drivers. Also try reinstalling directX.
