It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi

I used the launcher to download the 1.2 patch and its telling me that the patch is ready to be istalled, but it wont tell me where the file is nor is there a option to install it in the launcher menu. I looked in the program files \ gog folder and there is no files created or modified with this date and with name patcher ???

Is it really that difficult to tell the user where the freaking file is downloaded to ???

If you didn't configure your browser so it asks you where to save every file, it gets probably downloaded to the browsers downloadfolder. Like "My Downloads", if you're using Internet Explorer.

I just clicked on the patcher link and it asked me where to save the file. This indicates to me, that it's not an automated event with a homing beacon to your GoG folder. ;)

While I agree that the patching process seems to be a bit off, this is not a patch related problem, because the patch doesn't know your browser settings. Which are hopefully not configured in a way that they clutter up your program files. ;)
Thank you for the reply :) I tried to restart the launcher and then it asked to apply the patch.
What Audrey described only is right, if you're downloading the patches manually from www.thewitcher.com via a web browser. The automatic downloads through the game's launcher are saved to C:\Users\"Username"\My Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads.
If you used the launcher to download the patch then look in Documents>witcher 2>downloads be sure and right click and run as administrator
