Just finished 'with flickering heart' Even though Ele'yas seemed guilty of a murder or two, I imagined the Succubus drove him to madness - so I trotted off to kill her.

I pulled my silver sword, but the game started telling me that she was resistant to it in the combat log!

Switching to steel I finished her in a few swipes. Why is a *demon* vulnerable to steel? Is this an oversight in the game?

On a related note, why are Trolls vulnerable to silver? I was under the impression that they are a natural race of the Witcher's world, and not post conjunction creatures....

Shouldn't steel be material of choice for Troll slaying?

It seems that you pay more attention than CDPR is doing right now.

I think that demon its just the name of the race. She is something like a female faun.
I don't think she is really evil, and that is way she doesn't get hurts by silver.

In one of the books there are a male faun, that is called devil or demon (I don't remeber). This guy is not evil. He is enoying, do heavy pranks all the time, but also he cover Geralt with his own body when is about the get killed by a group of elves.

Beaside that, she is really hot.
If I want that something hot and evil get be hurt by silver, I choose sorceress beafore succubus every day of the week and twice on sunday.

I don't think evil has anything to do with it. First of all, what is evil and what is not? The definition will not be the same from person to person. Also, if silver only hurts evil things, then why is it effective against trolls and dragons? Are trolls and dragons evil? I don't think so, especially for those of us who chose a certain path and know the secret of the dragon in this game or who have encountered trolls in our playthroughs.

Yeah in-game material over both games makes it pretty clear that Silver is useful against magical creatures and the unnatural stuff that appeared after the conjunction of the spheres.

Their disposition has nothing to do with their vulnerabilities.

Most of the supernatural beasties Geralt fights are incapable of morality....

Ok, been evil is not a precise definition of what creatures are sensible to silver, but not every magical creatures are vulnerable to silver either.
In the book "The last wish", in the story "A Grain of Truth", there are a guy who is deeply magical but is holding a silver cup.
Geralt says that he can do that 'cos he is no a moster.

And you can ask:
What is a moster then ?

I think that a monster, if it is a sentient been, should be evil.
But this is just my opinion.

i'll think in that more than once and I'm not sure If it has to do with to be vulnerable to silver or not. Notice this part of the text:

There no place where that explains precisely what is a sphere. I supose that means world or dimension.

What is clear (to me), is that humans and elves belongs to other spheres. Gnomes and may be darves belongs to the current sphere (this come from the books). If there are several spheres, not just two, how do you know:
1) who come from which sphere.
2) which is the sphere where the natives are vulnerable to silver.

Comming back to the original topic.

Why is the Dragon vulnerable to silver and the succubus is not?
I think the Dragon vulnerable to silver just for the sake of the game play.
And I'm cool with that. I like the fight with the dragon as it is.

But I don't think that Sapkowski would made dragons vulnerable to silver. We really don't know, 'cos Geralt never fight a dragon in the books.

Beening big and to have scales doesn't make you prey of witcher. You have to be a monster.
And dragons are sentient beens and do not attack people without a reason. So, witchers don't hunt them.
